The Problem

Barry Callebaut were looking for a reliable solution to improve their energy efficiency, reduce their electricity bills, become more environmentally responsible and bolster their sustainability positioning at its chocolate factory in Campbellfield.

The Solution

After inspecting the site, conducting a feasibility study and calculation from historical electricity bills, Quality Energy recommended and installed a 568kW (total) solar PV system to generate clean, renewable energy, and manufactured and installed a 175kVAR Power Factor Correction Unit.

Benefits and Outcomes

Barry Callebaut have now achieved a reduction in the site's energy consumption, assurance around the future of the solar PV system with the panels have a 30-year product and performance warranty and the inverters have an extended 20-year warranty, giving them a total estimated ROI of 5-years. The solar PV system is expected to produce 690,815kWh in it's first year of operation, equivalend to offsetting 483 Tonnes of CO2 emissions!
